Lake Mountain is a snow resort in Australia with modern facilities. It is the closest snow resort in Melbourne. The chalets overlook the mountains, and there are many cross-country ski tracks and toboggan fields. You can build a snowman in Australia! It’s just two hours away from Melbourne. In addition to playing in the snow, you can hike to the summit of Lake Mountain, rent toboggans, and enjoy many other activities. This beautiful Alpine resort offers direct transfer and entry. Embrace your inner child and have fun!

The tranquil Alpine resort, named after Surveyor-General George Lake, does not have a lake to visit but instead offers a mountain. Visitors can drive 120 km North East from Melbourne directly to the resort, eliminating the need for transfer buses or lift passes.

The resort is surrounded by extensive cross-country ski tracks and toboggan fields, offering modern facilities. Guests can enjoy their time in charming chalets with stunning mountain views. The facilities offered include a variety of amenities such as a restaurant, day shelter, cafe, ski equipment rental, retail shop, snow sports centre, ski school, and other options.

Various activities are available for children and adults to enjoy, including tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snow-shoe walks, and even snowball fights. You will have a three-hour period to spend as you please.

Another option is to hike up to the summit of Lake Mountain for picturesque snowy views.

In the afternoon, you can walk 700 meters to visit the Steavenson Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Victoria, which is quite impressive and inspiring.

The Marysville waterfall was named after John Steavenson, who visited the area in 1862. The waterfall drops 84 meters into the Steavenson River Valley, serving as the centrepiece of the 190-hectare Steavenson Falls Scenic Reserve today.

Steavenson Falls has become a well-known tourist spot in Marysville since the 1860s. Visitors are drawn to its unique charm and stunning natural beauty, with five cascades and a total descent of 122 meters. It is truly a sight to behold.

While returning to Melbourne, we pass through the Yarra Valley to visit a highly regarded chocolate factory.

Visitors can satisfy their sweet cravings at Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, where they can sample handcrafted chocolate products and indulge in sweet treats. Additionally, there is the option to purchase items and take them home.

Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of vineyards, hills, and mountain ranges while exploring the lawns in Australia’s Yarra Valley.
